Door to Door Legal Awareness Campaign
APSLSA in collaboration with ALA, Conducts One Day Door –to-Door Mass Legal Awareness and Free Legal Counselling for the people living in Rural areas around Capital Complex.
In an endeavor to reach justice to the doorstep ofthe people, especially to the poor and needy; Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority in association with District Legal Services Authority, Yupia,and the Arunachal Law Academy (ALA), Lekhi, Naharlagun, has conducted one day “Door to Door“ Legal Awareness and free legal counselling campaing for the people ofadjoining rural villages like Sood, Borum, Yupia, Tigdo, Emchi, Chiputa, Jampa, Mani, Sopo, Midpu, Kholma and Khula Camp. Altogether 370 house holds were covered in the campiang. And around one thousand eight hundred fifty (1,850) household members have benefitted from the Campaing.
The objective of the campaing was to make the rural people aware about the availability of free legal services for the poor and needy people especially the marginalised section of the society, where and how to avail it and thereby make justice easily accessible for all.It is a follow up of the Moto of the Legal Services “No one should be denied justice by reason of any economic or other disabilities. Availability of free legal services, legal aid clinics, Lok Adalat, Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Schemes etc. wereemphasized in the campaing.
The campaign was successfully carried out lead by 7 Legal Aid Counsels of Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) & District Legal services authority, yupia, 3 Faculty members of Arunachal law Academy (ALA ) and eighty four (84) Law Students of Aruncahl Law Academy who are also trained Para Legal Volunteers of APSLSA divided into 9 teams.
