Para Legal Volunteer Training

APSLSA organised Para Legal Volunteer Training for the members of Arunchal Pradesh Delinquent Welfare Association (APDWA) at APSLSA’s Conference Hall, Itanagar on 27.01.2019. 

In an endeavour to reform and reintegrate the delinquents to mainstream as conceptualised under the provision of Juvenile Justice Act, the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority today organised a Para Legal Volunteer Training for the members of Arunachal Pradesh Delinquent Welfare Association(APDWA)  at the Conference Hall, APSLSA, Niti Vihar, Itanagar. The programme was attended by Shri Budi Habung, Member Secy. APSLSA, Shri Dani Belo, Dy. Secy. Law & Judicial cum OSD, APSLSA, Shri Jumgam Jini, Legal Aid Counsel, APSLSA, Smti. Nani Modi, Legal Aid Counsel, APSLSA and participants from the Delinquent Association.

In his inaugural address Shri Budi Habung, spoke on the Roles and Responsibilities of the State Legal Services Authority in facilitating access to justice to all the sections of society by providing free legal services through conducting legal awareness programmes, Lok Adalat, etc. Later, he spoke on the Role of PLVs and how they can work as a bridge between justice system and community, Basic Criminal Justice System which includes FIR, Arrest & Detention, Remand and Bail, while Shri Dani Belo spoke on Legal Assistance to the Victims of Disaster, Rights of Disabled, Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Scheme, 2011.

Later, Smti. Nani Modi,  spoke on working of JJB (Juvenile Justice Board) & CWCs (Children Welfare Commission) under JJ (Juvenile Justice) Act, 2015, Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, 2012 & Women’s Rights, Domestic Violence Act, 2005 & Sexual Harassment at work place, while, Shri Jumgam Jini, delivered a talk on Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substance, Right to Information and Various Schemes of Government. This was followed by practical activities and interaction session, wherein the queries of the participants were cleared by the Resource Persons.

The programme concluded with a valedictory function and vote of thanks.
